Itinerary

- The final Trans Aq' circuit can only be validated in March or April (authorisations...). Trail details are supplied to you, the day before each stage. This is to avoid giving an unfair advantage local runners.
- The Trans Aq’ follows the Aquitain coast-line from the Gironde estuary to Vieux-Boucau or, why not, the other way around...
- Tracks : the major part of the itinerary will take place along footpaths and trails, behind the dunes bordering the beach. The trails are sometimes smooth, sometimes sandy ; sometimes under shady pines, sometimes in sunny clearings ; sometimes flat, sometimes on the slopes of wooded dunes.
- Beach : one stage, at least, will take place along the beach, at low tide.
- Dunes : crossing the dunes will be rare (they are highly controlled by the Forest Service) – BUT – the Dune of Pyla awaits you (a night stage will start from its summit, 300 feet high).
- Stages : 6 stages, the itinerary of which will be kept secret until the first start line.
- 6 stages between 25 km and 60 km long.
- You would ford a shallow river : expect a good atmosphere, and even your blisters will enjoy it !
- Bivouacs : each evening, bivouac will be set up close to the dunes.
